Description
Sidney Lanfield directs this musical comedy starring Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth. Married Broadway theatre owner Martin Cortland (Robert Benchley) enjoys extra-marital affairs with his dancers. When he presents the latest object of his affection, Sheila (Hayworth), with an engraved diamond bracelet, Martin’s wife discovers the gift and accuses him of adultery. When Martin claims that he bought the bracelet for his lead dancer Robert (Astaire) to give to Sheila, she doubts him at first but gives him the benefit of the doubt, along with the promise of a double date. Will Martin’s ruse go to plan? The cast also includes Freida Inescort, John Hubbard and Osa Massen.
