Description
British drama based on the Cold War sex scandal involving events surrounding the Profumo affair starring John Hurt, Joanne Whalley, Ian McKellen and Bridget Fonda. Amateur artist and osteopath Stephen Ward (Hurt) befriends teenage show girl Christine Keeler (Whalley), and using his network of acquaintances introduces her to a number of high-profile figures. However, when details about her affair with the War Secretary John Profumo (McKellen) are leaked by the press a scandal ensues when it also emerges that she has been seeing Russian spy Eugene Ivanov (Jeroen Krabbé).
