Mes amis

Description

After the Cultural Revolution had come and gone, most of his friends were dead. One after the other, Shi Zhecun remembered them in prose, in a style moving and restrained. Written in 1979 and 1986, Shi Zhecun’s essays of reminiscence are portraits of intellectuals who had made history, and who were swallowed up by history’s waves. Translated for the first time, Shi Zhecun’s prose in this bilingual edition is part of the Luminary Collection.
