This 17-track LP gives the listener a great overview of Carl Perkins’ career featuring the best singles and album tracks from his 1955 debut on Sam Phillips’ Flip label, through his time with the Sun label and tracks released on Columbia up to 1962 and to hear the evolution of rockabilly. It provides a fine showcase for his oft-under-appreciated talents, not least his remarkable versatility and range of techniques as a guitarist, alongside his unique style as a rockabilly singer and his distinctive flair for song writing.
