Description
More than forty singers can lay claim to having been members of The Drifters at one time or another over the last sixty plus years. It is a list that contains some of the finest R&B singers of their generation, including Clyde Mc- Phatter, Ben E King, Johnny Moore (who is probably the most recognisable voice as far as British audiences are concerned) and Bill Pinkney on lead, ably assisted by a veritable treasure trove of vocalists. This particular collection of greatest hits was originally released in 1960 and variously features the lead vocals of Ben E King, Johnny Moore, Charlie Thomas, Elsbeary Hobbs, Tommy Evans, Bobby Hendricks and Johnny Lee Williams, with the tracks featuring their major smashes ‘There Goes My Baby’ and ‘Dance With Me’.
