Presented here is one of her best thematic LPs, Around Midnight, a magnificent collection of songs evoking night-time. An original song by Bobby Troup, “Lonely in Paris,” is included among well-known standards like Thelonious Monk’s celebrated “‘Round Midnight,” Erroll Garner’s “Misty,” George & Ira Gershwin’s “But Not for Me,” and Billy Strayhorn’s “Lush Life.”
